While it goes without saying that we could all use a drink, pretty much all the time, this annoying pandemic has sadly been going on long enough to perhaps warrant some discretion about just what kind of sauce one is inclined to swig. To that end, the fine folks that bring New Zealand wine to the world are introducing their first-ever virtual wine week from Feb. 8 to 12.
Organized by the country’s winegrowers, Virtual New Zealand Wine Week will feature a host of free online sessions planned across New Zealand, as well as the US, UK, Ireland and Canada. Programs will include tastings, discussions, and activities.
“These events will provide some great content about our New Zealand wine story and the opportunity to participate in live discussions with leading wine professionals from around the world… (and) valuable content and insight from a range of renowned speakers,” say organizers.
All webinars will also be recorded and made available here after the session.
Highlights include:
• Syrah Masterclass
• Panel discussion on New Zealand’s current sustainable wine growing initiatives and goals
• Insights into the wines consumers can expect to see on shelves next year
• A series of interviews with some of New Zealand’s leading winemakers.
The week begins Monday with the launch of the New Zealand Wine Catalogue, followed by daily events each day of the week, including Instagram live sessions with experts.
