As expected, Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings has joined Carnival Corp. brands in announcing it will extend cruise cancellations through at least the end of February, 2021.
Of the NCL ships, only Norwegian Escape, Norwegian Encore and Norwegian Joy still have itineraries scheduled in March. Sister lines Oceania Cruises and Regent Seven Seas are now not due to start sailing until April.
NCL’s decision leaves just Royal Caribbean Group as the only one of the “big three” cruise companies not to cancel their itineraries scheduled for January and February. But industry observers expect a delay is likely until spring is likely as ships still have to get US safety certifications which will require a series of test cruises that have yet to be announced.
