While Aruba’s all inclusive resorts boast some of the most breathtaking hotel grounds, for many, true adventure lies beyond the property lines. With its unique desert-like terrain and a coastline that spans kilometres, Aruba’s incredible landscape offers an ideal paradise where nature’s beauty is always front and centre.

The Butterfly Farm
Merely steps away from Palm Beach on the hotel strip, The Butterfly Farm offers a glimpse into some of nature’s most impressive species with hundreds of fluttering butterflies from around the world, from South America to Southeast Asia, the Philippines and Australia. No two are alike either, and visitors have the unique opportunity to witness the circle of life as they go through a metamorphosis, from egg to caterpillar, chrysalis and their final form as butterfly. Vacationers can handle a variety of butterflies and caterpillars up close, or indulge in a more informative experience with a guided tour where they’ll learn what makes the farm’s star creatures unique. A visit to the farm in the morning is encouraged as butterflies emerge from their chrysalis to take their first flight of the day.
Arikok National Park
With more than 20% of its body dedicated as a national park, one region in particular is evidence of both the ecosystem’s progression and Aruba’s heritage. At Arikok National Park, hiking is one of the more common activities to engage in but among its nearly 8,000 acres there is much to be explored. Across the park, various land formations including boulders, bridges, pools and more can be found, composed of lava, quartz diorite and limestone that guests of the park can spend the day discovering up close. Those looking for some relaxation can embark on a guided nature walk to the secluded bays of Moro, Boca Prins and Dos Playa, where pristine white sands are at the ready. While wandering the park, those lucky enough may catch whip tailed lizards, rattlesnakes, parakeets and more meandering about.
Conchi Natural Pool
While still accessible by horseback, tour or vehicle, perhaps one of Aruba’s most seemingly remote attractions is the impressive island gem of Conchi Natural Pool, set within Arikok National Park and nestled among rugged volcanic rock formations. This spot is a favourite among travellers in search of a unique swimming location along Aruba’s coast, as it offers both shallow waters near the shore to wade in, and deeper areas that reach approximately 17 feet which make for ideal snorkelling conditions alongside tropical fish.
