It has been cold in the Sunshine State this week. In fact, cold enough that some of the water parks in Florida have shut down on days of dipping temperatures. Volcano Bay at Universal Orlando Resort, Aquatica Orlando and Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park have all temporarily closed their gates.
Tuesday morning the temperature in Orlando was 7 degrees Celsius (45℉), according to Accuweather.
“During the peak of the cold weather, highs are forecast to range from the lower 30s over the southern Appalachians to the middle 60s in South Florida,” AccuWeather reports. Across much of the area, it seems Tuesday night will be the chilliest, with temps dropping into the mid-30s overnight into Wednesday morning.
Universal Orlando’s Volcano Bay closed Monday, Jan. 20, and will remain so through Wednesday, Jan. 22, as will Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park. SeaWorld’s Aquatica is also closed until Wednesday,
Volcano Bay will close again January 27 – 30 in anticipation of cold temperatures.
Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park closed last weekend for its annual refurbishment shutdown.
