DENVER HAS DESIGNS ON CANADA: Reappoints Pulse Travel Marketing agency

VISIT DENVER has named Pulse Travel Marketing as the city’s Canadian representative with the mandate to ensure that the Mile High City is prominently positioned with the travel trade, consumer, and key distribution media channels in Canada.

Led by Sana Keller and Annika Klint, the newly re-appointed VISIT DENVER Canada team will be responsible for promoting tourism from Canada to Denver and for working hand-in-hand with key media, and in state partners in the Colorado capital, to drive demand and keep the city top of mind.

The Toronto-based agency will oversee the development and implementation of a strategic communications program to increase the profile of VISIT DENVER and maximize multi-media opportunities.

Named 2020’s No. 1 city to visit in the world by Rough Guides and among the top 10 places in the world to visit in 2020 by Lonely Planet, Denver is known for its distinctive neighbourhoods, world class museums, sporting events – including games for the hockey Avalanche, football Broncos, baseball Rockies, and recently anointed NBA champion Nuggets – and outstanding culture, in addition to its proximity to Colorado’s world-famous Rocky Mountain National Park and much more beyond.

Denver boasts globally acclaimed museums with renowned permanent and temporary exhibitions, alongside art-centric neighbourhoods, boutique hotels and more, which further cement its reputation as an international cultural destination.

Additionally, Denver continues to earn critical acclaim for its culinary and beer scenes. Top visitor attractions include Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre, Denver Zoo, Downtown Aquarium, Denver Botanic Gardens and Meow Wolf.

Canada is Colorado’s top source of international visitors and boasts nonstop international flights on several carriers including Westjet and Air Canada, which have have increased access to its capital.

Recently ranked the No. 1 airport in the U.S. by the Wall Street Journal, Denver International Airport connects The Mile High City to more than 200 destinations worldwide, and convenient high speed rail service connects Denver International Airport with Denver’s central Union Station.

In 2022, Denver welcomed a record 36.3 million visitors, marking a 15% increase over 2021 and surpassing all historic tourism totals by a large margin. A record number of visitors also spent more money in Denver than ever before, generating US$9.4 billion in tourism revenue, far beyond the previous record of $7 billion spent in 2019.
