Holland American Line has matched the voluntary cancellation extensions by other Carnival Corp. brands, announcing that it is suspending all operations through at least March 31, 2021. Like Carnival Cruises, Princess and Seabourn, HAL said the decision was made in order to give it time to “prepare and develop its plans to meet the Framework for Condition Sailing Order issued by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.”
The moves came as the CDC raised its warning about cruising to Level 4 (very high) from Level 3 (high). CDC cautioned: “It is especially important that people with an increased risk of severe illness avoid travel on cruise ships, including river cruises.”
