Seabourn is going to remarkable lengths to expand the exploration universe, opening sales for a unique winter season in Norway’s polar regions. Purpose-built luxury expedition ship Seabourn Venture is beginning its inaugural season with 10- to 14-day cruises in search of the Northern Lights and wildlife in places like the Lofoten Islands and destinations north of the Arctic Circle.
It’s certainly an adventurous experience, with the optional expedition outdoor activities including skiing, snowshoeing, ice fishing, dog and reindeer sledding. Dedicated excursions in search of Northern Lights will be available, including overnight camps at optimal viewing locations. In addition, there will be a new complimentary Seabourn signature event on all voyages for all guests: Concert in the Northern Lights Cathedral at the northern town of Alta, Norway.
There should be excellent opportunities to star gaze because between mid-December and mid-January, the sun doesn’t even rise above the horizon above the Arctic Circle.
