WHEN CAN NORTH AMERICANS SAIL ON EUROPEAN RIVER CRUISES?

It’s likely to be March, 2021 before North Americans will be able to join cruises on Europe’s rivers. That was the prognosis that came from a webinar with the co-founders of AmaWaterways.

The company is operating one ship for European guests only, and there are 58 ships for various cruise brands operating in Europe now, but none of them carry Americans or Canadians. AmaKristina is sailing cruises with guests mostly from Germany, which has kept coronavirus under control better than most other countries.

When asked about when North Americans would be able to get on board co-founder and President Rudi Schreiner said: “We still hope to get some cruising in by the end of this year but we’re not sure.” Not only does the United States ,which is a major source of Ama’s guests, need to get the virus under control, the European Union is still barring American visitors.
