With “strong interest” already brewing for next winter, Air Canada has released its winter 2023-24 schedule, featuring nearly 10 percent capacity over its 2019 pre-pandemic high water mark.
Highlights of the schedule, include:
• New flights from Toronto to Monterrey and Fort-de-France
• New flights from Montreal to La Romana and Los Cabos
• Up to 50% more capacity from Vancouver to Mexico, Miami, Phoenix, Las Vegas, and
• Overall, 8% more sun capacity versus 2019 pre-pandemic schedule
With the “strategic expansion” of routes, the airline anticipates an 11% capacity increase from 2022, culminating in up to 683 weekly flights, including up to 20 routes from across Canada to Florida, increased flights from across Canada to Cancun, Montreal to Palm Beach, Toronto to Fort Myers, and significantly more capacity out of YVR.
“Air Canada continues implementing its global network strategy and has extended several European routes to year-round including Toulouse, Barcelona, Edinburgh, Lisbon, Rome, Madrid and Copenhagen,” adds Mark Galardo, Executive VP at Air Canada, explaining that optimized schedules will allow Europeans to connect onwards to the Sun destinations offered.
New route details
Toronto – Monterrey, Mexico (year-round): Air Canada becomes the only Canadian airline to offer flights between Canada and Monterrey, Mexico’s third largest metropolis and home to business headquarters and commercial interests as well as historical culture, art, and architectural attractions. Four times weekly flights begin Oct. 29.
Toronto-Fort-de-France, Martinique (seasonal): New Saturday flights from Toronto (starting Dec. 16) compliment year-round flights from Montreal, together comprising seven weekly flights from Canada to Martinique at winter peak.
Montreal- Los Cabos, Mexico (seasonal): New flights – Fridays from Dec. 1 – from Montreal complements services from Toronto and Vancouver to the popular Mexican leisure destination.
Montreal-La Romana (seasonal): Starting Dec. 17, Quebec passengers can fly directly to and from the Dominican Republic destination every Sunday.
