Increasingly an alternative to Toronto’s busy airports, John C. Munro Hamilton International Airport (YHM) has unveiled its latest “refreshments,” and its winter flight program for 2025/26, including increased nonstop service and easy connections to/from southern Ontario to the South.
Destinations include Mexico, the Caribbean and Florida, along with continued service to key Canadian cities, including Calgary, Edmonton, Halifax and Vancouver.
Additionally, new passenger jet bridges will open just in time for the winter season to provide direct, weather-protected access from the terminal to the aircraft.
The jet bridges are the latest enhancement to Hamilton International’s refreshed airport experience, which saw a refreshed passenger terminal building in June, including an expanded exterior frontage with updated landscaping and a marquis YHM sign.
Inside the terminal, upgrades to check-in, baggage claim and the departure gate areas create a smoother, sleeker and more spacious feel. Integration of architectural elements and contemporary finishes inspired by the region’s natural geography lend the terminal a unique sense of place, while new digital signage and lighting upgrades enhance the overall travel journey.
Winter program highlights
Porter Airlines (Porter) is adding nonstop, weekly flights to Mexico, The Bahamas and Florida with service to Cancun, Puerto Vallarta, Nassau, Fort Lauderdale and Orlando starting in December. This seasonal service will complement Porter’s domestic schedule from Hamilton International, with nonstop flights to Calgary, Edmonton, Halifax and Vancouver continuing through the winter.
- The WestJet Group continues to offer enhanced vacation packages through its Sunwing division, with weekly service to Cancun and Punta Cana returning in December. WestJet also continues to provide non-stop service to its global hub in Calgary with flights five times weekly, providing access to more than 70 one-stop connections across North America and beyond.
- Air Canada and The Landline Company continue to operate daily luxury motorcoach service between Hamilton International and Toronto Pearson, connecting Air Canada and Star Alliance passengers directly to and from YHM at no additional cost. Customers with a pre-existing Air Canada, Air Canada Vacations or Star Alliance reservation can also now add the luxury motorcoach service to/from Hamilton International directly through Landline’s website.
“We are excited to announce an expanded winter flight schedule and the long-anticipated addition of passenger jet bridges,” said Ed Ratuski, Executive Managing Director of Hamilton International. “We’re building on the ‘travel refreshed’ momentum of this past summer, with more terminal enhancements and new Canada Customs and NEXUS kiosks to make the international arrivals experience seamless and more convenient for our guests.”
Travellers are encouraged to arrive at the Airport at least two hours prior to domestic departures and three hours prior to international departures to allow ample time for parking, check-in and security screening. Travellers can also secure their parking spot in advance and save by pre-booking through the airport’s online reservation system. Parking reservations are available for booking at parking.flyhamilton.ca.
