WESTJET ADDS MORE SUMMER SEATS

WestJet says it is making significant increases to its summer schedule, bringing more seats and additional flight frequencies to routes across its network. That includes a 64 percent increase in capacity from Regina and 46 percent more from Saskatoon, as well as other western gateways.

Those include:

• 44% increase in seat capacity to/from Edmonton
• 42% increase in seat capacity to/from Winnipeg
• 27% increase in seat capacity to/from Calgary
• 13% increase in seat capacity to/from Kelowna
• 55 increase in seat capacity to/from Vancouver

Featuring nearly 600 daily departures during peak travel days, the summer schedule enhancements will include domestic, transborder and international network destinations with many routes nearly doubling or more in frequency over 2022 – such as Edmonton-Las Vegas increasing to 11 times weekly from four flights; and Vancouver-Ottawa jumping to 11 flights weekly from five.

“Providing our guests with even more opportunity to travel across our network this summer comes as a result of a thoughtfully designed schedule that balances the high demand for travel alongside a reliable and resilient operation,” said WestJet VP and COO John Weatherill. “With more seats available for booking and added capacity on popular routes, our summer schedule reflects a strengthened commitment to providing seamless domestic and transborder connectivity for our guests.”
