With two of the travel industry’s foremost trade shows – WTM London and ITB Berlin – fixed in place, trade members who attend such events eagerly anticipate the rotating roster of US Travel’s signature show, IPW (formerly International Pow Wow), typically set some years in advance.
Following San Antonio in 2023, Los Angeles (May 3-7, 2024) and Chicago (June 14-18, 2025) were known for the next two years; now US Travel has revealed venues and dates through to the end of the decade. They include:
2026: Greater Fort Lauderdale, Fla. – May 18-22
2027: New Orleans – May 3-7
2028: Detroit – June 10-14
2029: Denver – May 19-23
2030: Anaheim – June 1-5
The new roster includes two new cities (Fort Lauderdale, Detroit), which are especially anticipated by regular attendees.
As for the others, Anaheim was the last IPW host before the pandemic, preceded by a memorable event in Denver 2018. Meanwhile, New Orleans, in 2016, not surprisingly, is hailed as one of the most colourful shows in recent years. South Florida (Miami) last hosted in 2009.
“By serving as host site of IPW, each of these world-class cities will play a key role in growing inbound travel and strengthening the US economy,” said US Travel Association President and CEO Geoff Freeman. “US Travel looks forward to working with these diverse destinations to bring the world to America – and ensuring IPW remains a can’t-miss event on the global travel industry’s calendar.”
As the leading inbound travel trade show in the US, the event draws around 5,000 delegates, including 1,400 international delegates, for 90,000 scheduled business appointments over three days. Canada typically provides a healthy delegation of trade, tourism reps, and media to the event, celebrated at a pre-opening Discover America Canada event.
