THE BRIDGERTON EFFECT: Hit Netflix show fuels U.K. surge

British tourism is experiencing a “Bridgerton”-fuelled surge, according to leading tour operator Evan Evans, which says the demand for the series’ UK filming locations has resulted in a staggering 276% increase in website visits for its Stonehenge & Bath private tours, while online searches for the Hampton Court & Windsor tours have climbed 140%.

The popular period piece, which returned for Season 4 in January after a nearly a two-year wait (with the second four episodes having dropped on Feb. 26) attracted 39.7 million views in its first four days, becoming Netflix’s most-watched title of the week.

The surge also reflects a broader literary and drama-inspired travel trend, with travellers increasingly seeking UK destinations featured in popular shows and novels.

In response, and with Benedict and Sophie’s Cinderella-inspired romance set to continue, the so-called ‘Bridgerton effect’ shows no sign of slowing, translating on-screen drama into real-world UK travel demand, says Evan Evans, which has launched a blog post highlighting iconic filming locations from the hit series, offering a selection of curated tours for fans.

“The Bridgerton phenomenon is transforming the way people travel in the UK,” says Roger Gomes, Rail Manager at Evan Evans. “Fans aren’t just watching the drama – they want to live it. From the grandeur of Hampton Court to the timeless elegance of Bath, our tours allow visitors to experience Regency-era England firsthand. This surge in demand reflects a wider trend of story-driven travel, where iconic locations from beloved shows and literature are becoming must-visit destinations.”

Evan Evans’ tours depart from London Victoria, exploring Stonehenge, Bath, Hampton Court and Windsor, guided by experts in British history and heritage. Luxury private chauffeured tours provide a VIP experience, fully immersing guests in the glamour and intrigue of 18th-Century England, as depicted in Bridgerton.
