Take a look at these women. They are hugely responsible for making our industry what it is today. To make it personal – every one of them, perhaps even without knowing it, has played a part in any accomplishment or success I have had in business and in life. Some I have known for decades, some I have never actually met in person. However, I have either worked with, travelled with, interviewed and written about, or even just emailed, phoned, or video-conferenced, with every one of them.
These amazing women, each of whom I respect and admire, are intelligent, smart, sharp, logical and rational – and that’s just for starters. They are, and have been, motivating and encouraging co-workers, colleagues, associates, mentors, and some I am privileged to call friends.
On Women’s Day, Travel Industry Today and I personally, salute them and all the wonderful women who make our industry, despite its flaws, fascinating, intriguing and probably addictive.
If I’ve worked with you and you don’t spot yourself, I apologise. There were a lot of people over the years.
