27 MAY 2019: A year after being named president of Air Canada Rouge, Duncan Bureau has left the airline. The airline industry veteran had previously spent four years as vice president of global sales at Air Canada. Details of the departure were not available, but Air Canada CFO Michael Rousseau is said to be taking over as acting president.

Known as one of the travel industry’s truly outsized personalities: intense, passionate and funny, Bureau is a well-known figure in Canadian aviation, having also spent 10 years at WestJet as a VP of sales and airline partnerships from 2002 to 2012.

Between stints at the Canadian carriers, he spent two years in Kuala Lumpur as a VP at Malaysia Airlines, with the latter months of his tenure there marred by the tragic disappearance of flight MH370.
