01 MAR 2019: It’s one way to keep warm. The Lizt Alfonso Dance Cuba returned to Canada to heat up a bone-chilling winter. Made in Cuba is a love story that left audiences enthralled as performers took them through a taste of Cuban culture. The production is one of over 200 artistic events taking place in and outside of Cuba to celebrate Havana’s 500-year anniversary.

Lizt has received remarkable reviews for their past performances: “to radiant expression on the true Cuban spirit in soulful song and exuberant dances,” said CBC.

Each show authentically combines elements of flamenco, ballet and contemporary dances with Spanish and Afro-Cuban rhythms, leveraging a cast of energetic female dancers to tell a compelling story about Cuba.

Sponsored by the Cuba Tourist Board, the Litz Alfonso Dance Cuba performed last night at the Living Arts Centre Mississauga.
