04 DEC 2012: Skyfall James Bond’s latest film has taken movie-goers around the world by storm. But there are other super agent secrets brewing closer to home. Last week Transat Holidays launched its new 2013-2014 Europe Collection to a packed house of industry partners and trade media.

The new 259-page glossy is pretty much a smorgasbord of Europe. With direct flights to 28 destinations in Europe (18 from Ontario), pick a country, excursion, and you’re bound to find something to fit anyone’s fancy.

Before the intimate group who lunched at the fashionably Mediterranean-inspired Brassaii, Nicole Bursey, Ontario and Atlantic Canada commercial director for Transat Tours Canada, presented some key business points.

Main Message

Transat Holiday’s Ontario sales professionals are available to help retailers and agents.

“We have a very well versed team of sales professionals here in Ontario always at your disposal for in-house trainings, always there to help you with consumer events, to help you build a business plan,” she said, adding this year’s major focus is to secure more land business from the various retailers.

Idea hunting

Stuck on ideas? The breadth of the European product Nicole explained is something Transat holds proud. “We have a lot of flexible travel options because that is what the Canadian traveller demands. We have over 12 designed travel options for people whether someone wants their hand held from beginning to end, we can offer that, or for people who want a little flexibility we can offer that to them too.”

New this season is the Indulgence Package available at select upscale resorts in four destinations: Barcelona, London Paris and Rome. “This is for people who are looking for a little something extra. Perhaps they are celebrating a special anniversary,” added Nicole about the company’s newest European product.

The European spot with the biggest Transat program: Greece. Agents don’t need to fret about places to stay like the poor character starring the actress Nia Vardalos did in My Life In Ruins. “We offer a full range of hotels that offer great value to your clients,” explained Nicole describing all the company’s products.

“We have a huge programme, the biggest programme of any Canadian tour operator programme into Greece,” added Nicole. Opa - agents will surely want to become well versed on all the Transat Holidays Greece products.

Transat’s Europe essentials:

13 Travel Options
It’s an OMG moment – a huge assortment of products in the travel option department.
Do you have a client who wants classic Europe, or maybe there’s a long-time customer looking for a little something extra when it comes to European cities? You’ll want to direct them to the City Package for classic discoveries or get them jazzed for the City Package and Excursions. The latter’s got neat extras from sightseeing tours to public transport cards.

Coach tours: Carefree sightseeing
Watch for a big focus on this in 2013.
“The coach tour is something you’ll see our sales team will be focusing their training around. We want to make sure all Canadian agents are very comfortable in selling the Transat Holidays Coach tours. There’s a lot of extra value built into our coach tours,” explained Nicole.

Flexibility
Semi-escorted coach tours mean the best of both worlds plus there’s a full range of go-as-you-please programming. Maybe your customer wants to drive around the UK and stop to smell the roses. Well they can. Select from 100+ various accommodations situated in the most surprising places.

Seaside, Countryside and Long stay vacations

Nicole said these areas are in response to your agents. “This is a demand many travellers are looking for.”

28 European Destinations
A huge selection not only means agents can close a sale, but it also gives a lot of flexibility offered Nicole. “People don’t often want to go to one city or to one country when they are traveling to Europe.”

Ka-ching! New this year, clients who book by February 28 will automatically be entered in a draw to win their trip. Winners get reimbursed up to $5000.
