RETAIL ROUND-UP: Agent news, fams & incentives

This week: TRAVELSAVERS owners were in full “retreat” mode – in a good way; Nexion members cruised to success at an inaugural conference; Transat hosted “rookie camp” for travel advisors; and Trevello revealed the anticipated location of its next annual conference in 2026.

TRAVELSAVERS

Top TRAVELSAVERS Canada agency owners and preferred partners (banner photo) forged closer bonds at recent high-level retreat, designed to help them to better withstand industry shifts. More than 120 owners and managers from the U.S. and Canada, suppliers, and staff attended Owners Focus Retreat in Chateau Elan in Braselton, Georgia, where attendees took part in interactive programs with inspiring engaging speakers, lively networking sessions, and leisure pursuits.

Owners of TRAVELSAVERS Canada agencies participated in a collaborative roundtable to explore

how the network can best support them in today’s challenging market, with discussions focusing on sales strategies, preferred supplier assistance, and network tools such as the AI Connect platform.

“Owners Focus Retreat created a space for meaningful discussions and fresh thinking,” said Jane

Clementino, Sr VP and GM of TRAVELSAVERS Canada. “It was a chance for our top agencies to collaborate, offer ideas, and shape strategies that will drive their business forward in a rapidly changing market.”

Nexion

Nexion Travel Group held its inaugural Cruise Sales Summit earlier this month at the Hilton Cocoa Beach Oceanfront in Cocoa Beach, Fla., with nearly 50 Nexion travel advisors from the U.S. and Canada in attendance. Some were already booking cruises while others were looking to expand their expertise in this booming travel segment.

Participants attended education sessions on the business of selling cruises including strategies to enhance sales, marketing-and-the-client experience; gained insights from top cruise supplier partners and Nexion experts; took part in ship inspections and hotel visits; and had a chance to network with travel advisor colleagues. There were special presentations from the Cruise Lines International Association and Florida’s Space Coast Office of Tourism.

“We designed our first Cruise Sales Summit to be the ultimate experience for travel advisors looking to increase their business,” said Jackie Friedman, President, Nexion Travel Group, a division of Internova Travel Group, one of the world’s largest travel services companies. “The summit is part of our commitment to give our travel advisors every advantage in the marketplace. The more information they have and connections they make, the better they can serve their clients and be successful.”

Transat

Earlier this month, Transat hosted its second Rookie Camp at Majestic Colonial Punta Cana, in the Dominican Republic, offering 100 travel advisors from across Canada a unique learning experience. The event brought together travel professionals for a week filled with hands-on training and invaluable networking opportunities.

“Transat’s mission with Rookie Camp is to immerse new travel advisors in its core values. We believe that having the opportunity to communicate this mindset, empowering newcomers with practical knowledge and fostering enduring connections so early in their careers is truly invaluable. It’s our way of bridging distances and staying firmly rooted in their minds”, said Lindsay Merrill, Transat Sales Manager.

The program featured more than five hours of exclusive sessions focused on Transat’s products, alongside seven hours of expert-led training delivered by multiple hotel partners, including six newcomers:

The Rookie Camp was also an opportunity to discover several other aspects of Transat: the E-Travel Guide (a new online app developed by Trafic Tours specifically for groups); the service of Turissimo (Transat’s local partner); as well as the carefully selected portfolio of properties. Participants also had the chance to tour nearly 40 all-inclusive hotels across Punta Cana, Miches, and Cap Cana.

Trevello

Trevello Travel Group conducted its 2025 national conference, “Momentum,” at the Hyatt Ziva and Hyatt Zilara Rose Hall in Montego Bay, Jamaica. The week-long even brought together over 200 advisors and suppliers for a comprehensive agenda of education, networking, and celebration.

The conference culminated in an awards gala, where Trevello recognized its top-performing advisors and celebrated the spirit of growth and collaboration driving the company forward.

Trevello also announced that its 2026 national conference will take place in Ireland, in partnership with Brendan Vacations (TTC Tour Brands), Tourism Ireland, and Tourism Northern Ireland.
