Porter Airlines reports it has achieved a significant operational milestone with registration in the International Air Transport Association (IATA) Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) program.
The IOSA registration, which covers Porter’s Embraer E195-E2 operations, confirms the airline’s adherence to the highest global safety standards for operational management and control.
The airline says the achievement is a key step in Porter’s growth strategy, enabling future partnerships with international carriers.
“Safety is the foundation of our growth and part of the promise we make to our passengers,” said Porter executive VP and COO Kent Woodside. “Achieving IOSA registration for our E195-E2 operations validates our investment in world-class safety management systems. It signals to the global aviation community that Porter operates with rigorous discipline, even during a period of exceptional growth.”
The IOSA program is the internationally recognized benchmark for global airline safety management. The comprehensive audit assessed PACL’s documentation and implementation of over 900 standards and recommended practices across key operational areas, including:
- Flight operations and dispatch
- Aircraft engineering and maintenance
- Cabin operations
- Ground handling and cargo operations
- Operational security
Registration in the IOSA program provides Porter with a standardized framework for safety audits, reducing redundancy and streamlining compliance processes. Crucially, it facilitates commercial opportunities with other IOSA-registered airlines, supporting Porter’s objective to continue expanding its reach through partnerships.
