PILOTS AT FLAIR WILL STAY IN THE AIR

In a bit of good labour news at the other end of the runway from WestJet, Flair Airlines pilots voted overwhelmingly to ratify their tentative agreement reached with company management.

The three-year agreement was ratified by 89% of eligible pilots who voted and offers meaningful improvements to compensation, retirement, scheduling, career progression, and overall quality of life, says the Air Line Pilots Association, Int’l (ALPA).

“This agreement reflects the strength and solidarity our pilots demonstrated over more than 10 months of negotiations,” said First Officer Aimee Wintle, chair of the Flair Master Executive Council. “Our pilots stood together with a clear goal: to secure an agreement that recognizes their professionalism, improves their quality of life, and positions Flair pilots for long-term success. Today’s result is a testament to the power of a unified pilot group.”

The new three-year agreement, which takes effect immediately, provides significant improvements across several key areas, including compensation, retirement, scheduling, and quality of life. It also strengthens career progression opportunities and better aligns Flair pilots with industry standards.

“This agreement delivers meaningful improvements for Flair pilots and recognizes the professionalism and commitment they bring to the operation every day,” added Wintle.

Flair’s 270 pilots operate scheduled passenger service throughout Canada, the United States, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central America.
