ONE CARIBBEAN CANADA HELPS MAKE CONNECTIONS

Nancy Drolet

With interest by, and from, Caribbean countries peaking as Canadians continue to look for alternate destinations for their holidays, the time is certainly fortuitous for One Caribbean Canada to help connect the trade with the region’s representatives in this country.

On Tuesday, the year-old company founded by travel industry veteran Nancy Drolet held a media marketplace at the Old Mill in Toronto, to be followed tonight by a travel advisor event in Pickering, Ont. Destination participants for the events number about a dozen, including the likes of Nassau-Paradise Island, Jamaica, Antigua, Dominica, Grenada, the Bahamas, St. Martin, and more.

Drolet told Travel Industry Today that interest in the region from travel advisors is definitely intensifying in light the U.S. trade war, and she is being overwhelmed in particular with requests for information on long-stay options in the Caribbean.

To that end, Drolet says a “long stay” tab has been added to the www.onecaribbeancanada.ca web site, which includes valuable information on subjects such as how to get married in the Caribbean, health and medical resources, and accessible travel options throughout the region. The website also features essential details for Canadians looking to explore island-hopping possibilities, travelling for romance or with pets, plus a comprehensive festivals calendar.

Drolet notes while the website is designed to be consumer-friendly, it also offers full support for the travel advisor community. The site is not a booking platform but rather a hub of information, providing users with everything they need to plan their next Caribbean getaway.

With 24 Caribbean member countries (and counting) and various suppliers (including several dozen hotels), the website is a valuable resource for Canadians and advisors seeking detailed, up-to-date information about travel, events, and culture in the Caribbean.

The Caribbean members are committed to supporting the travel trade across Canada and offer valuable resources for advisors who want to help clients explore the region, adds Drolet

“Our goal is to provide Canadians with the tools they need to explore new destinations and hotels, and make the most of their Caribbean adventures,” Drolet added. “We’re committed to promoting the entire region and supporting our Canadian travel advisors in their efforts to sell the Caribbean.”
