Service to Air Canada’s newest destination in Asia – Manila – took flight Wednesday from Vancouver, marking the start of three times weekly year-round service (increasing to four times weekly on May 1) linking Canada and the Philippines.
Supporting the airline’s Canada’s Indo-Pacific strategy, which has seen Air Canada double summer season seat capacity over the Pacific since 2022, the Manila flights represent the airline’s 12th route in its transpacific network from Vancouver – including destinations in Japan, South Korea, People’s Republic of China, Hong Kong, SAE, Thailand, Singapore, Australia, and New Zealand.
For summer 2025, Air Canada will offer over 180 weekly flights between Canada and the Pacific, including the recent additions of Singapore and Bangkok, which are the most non-stop flights of any carrier in the market.
“We are proud to be the only Canadian carrier flying to the Philippines,” said Air Canada Executive VP Mark Galardo. “With more than one million Filipinos living in Canada representing an important market, direct air services are a catalyst to facilitating tourism, trade and connectivity, and represent the fastest way of travelling to Manila.”
In April, flights depart YVR Mon.-Wed.-Fri; after May 1, Tues.-Thur.-Fri.-Sun. Returns from Manila are the next day.
