LYNX STAKES CLAIM TO FLORIDA MARKET

Orlando Airport

With its latest launches to Florida over the weekend, low-cast Lynx says it is well on its way to its goal of offering nearly 10,000 seats in and out of the Sunshine State per week by December. On Saturday, the carrier took flight from Vancouver to Orlando, while on Friday Tampa service began from Montreal.

The Vancouver flights marked a continuation of the carrier’s international expansion that will see it offer 12,000 seats per week across its North American network to and from Vancouver, representing an 88% from the previous year. Lynx launched in 2022.

The flight was also the carrier’s first connection from the West Coast to Florida, with YVR joining Calgary, Toronto, and Montreal in providing a gateway to the theme park capital.

Russell Atkinson, Director, Air Service Development at Vancouver Airport Authority notes that route also provides customers with onward options to cruises and the Caribbean.

“We are committed to bringing more ultra-affordable air travel to the west coast, and Vancouver is an important hub for our network,” said Jim Sullivan, CEO of Lynx Air. “We are proud to help make travel from Vancouver to Orlando even easier, providing more choice in this under-served market.”

Inaugural Lynx service from Montreal to Tampa started Friday with the carrier now operating four flights per week between the cities on brand-new Boeing 737 aircraft.
