LOW-COST ARAJET COMING TO CANADA

Canadians will have a new connection to the Caribbean and South and Central America courtesy of low-cost Dominican Republic-based carrier Arajet, with the launch of Toronto service in October, followed by flights from Montreal in November.

Flights from YYZ to Santo Domingo will operate from Oct 24, followed by Montreal from Nov. 7. Service will be four times a week on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.

A growing list of connections from the airline’s hub include Santiago de Chile, Medellín, Sao Paulo, Cartagena, Aruba, Kingston, Curacao, and Saint Martin.

Launched in 2022, Arajet offers nearly 90 connections in 20 destinations in
the 14 countries in which it operates.

“With these new routes… we managed to consolidate Santo Domingo as a regional air hub so that travellers from the southern cone can connect with North America or the Caribbean better than ever – and vice versa,” says airline founder and CEO Victor Pacheco.

He noted the Dominican Republic alone is an important market for Canada.

“Arajet remains committed to the growth and expansion of our hub, especially now with Canada, which is the second country of origin of tourists to the Dominican Republic, and with a diaspora of more than 50,000 Dominicans who now have a national airline to visit their friends and family.

“With Arajet, you will find the best prices in the market; for example: a passenger can travel from Sao Paulo to Montreal for only $121 with taxes included per trip, and the same goes for Santiago de Chile and Toronto among other destinations. This is what makes us have the most efficient connection centre on the continent,” he added.

Arajet operates a new fleet of environmentally friendly Boeing 737MAX-8 aircraft.
