The Costa Rican Tourism Board (ICT), alongside Costa Rican tourism partners and the Canadian team at VoX International, welcomed travel advisors, tour operators and airline representatives to an immersive “Energía Pura Vida” trade networking event last week at Arcadia Earth in Toronto’s The Well.
Designed to move beyond traditional presentation-style trade events, the Toronto reception invited attendees to experience Costa Rica through experiential activations, immersive storytelling and meaningful face-to-face conversations inspired by the destination’s signature “Pura Vida” lifestyle.
Hosted within the multi-sensory environment of Arcadia Earth, guests journeyed through interactive exhibits exploring themes tied to sustainability, biodiversity, conservation and human connection before arriving at the Costa Rica networking reception. The venue was intentionally selected to align with Costa Rica’s global leadership in sustainable tourism and environmental stewardship.
“Costa Rica is much more than a destination – it is a feeling and a way of life rooted in wellbeing, sustainability and connection,” said Ireth Rodríguez Villalobos, Head of Promotion and Marketing for the Costa Rican Tourism Board (ICT). “Through the Energía Pura Vida roadshow, we are excited to strengthen our relationships with the Canadian travel trade while sharing the experiences, people and values that make Costa Rica so unique.”
The evening featured:
- An interactive experience through Arcadia Earth’s environmental exhibits
- A “Costa Rican Passport” activation encouraging attendees to engage with participating partners through a guided networking journey
- Costa Rica-inspired sustainability storytelling woven throughout the event
- One-on-one networking opportunities with Costa Rican tourism partners
- Destination giveaways and prizing
- Curated discussions around Costa Rica’s outdoor adventure, wellness, culinary and biodiverse and sustainable tourism offerings
“Canadian travel advisors are looking for destinations that offer meaningful experiences, sustainability and emotional connection – and Costa Rica delivers on all of those fronts,” added Gustavo Inciarte, Trade Account Manager at VoX International. “The Energía Pura Vida roadshow was created to bring Costa Rica to life through storytelling and personal connections with our partners, helping advisors better understand the incredible diversity of experiences available throughout the destination.”
The Toronto stop marked the first event in the two-city Canadian “Energía Pura Vida” roadshow, followed by a second event in Montreal on May 14.
