Porter Airlines phenomenal growth is set to take another giant step with the launch of the carrier’s first sun destination flights, which initially will include Mexico, the Caribbean and Costa Rica this winter. Porter supporters will be able to choose from five destinations and 13 routes originating from Toronto Pearson, Ottawa, and Hamilton, Ont. International Airport.
The line-up of destinations includes Cancun, Mexico (CUN), Puerto Vallarta, Mexico (PVR), Nassau, The Bahamas (NAS), Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands (GCM), and Liberia, Costa Rica (LIR).
“This is a significant development… These are Porter’s first routes outside of our longtime presence throughout Canada and the U.S., and we’re starting off in a big way by introducing five distinctly different destinations,” said Porter president Kevin Jackson, who adds he that expects competitors to now “mimic” Porter service, such as offering free wine and beer.
The winter schedule will include:
Cancun:
YYZ – 7x peak weekly, starting Nov. 5
YOW – 3x weekly starting Dec. 17
YHM – 4x weekly starting Dec. 17
Puerto Vallarta:
YYZ – 3x weekly, starting Nov. 14
YOW – 2x weekly starting Dec. 13
YHM – 2x weekly starting Dec. 18
Nassau:

YOW – 1x weekly starting Dec. 13
YHM – 2x weekly starting Dec. 14

YOW – 1x weekly starting Dec. 19
Liberia, Costa Rica:

Porter is the only airline offering service from Ottawa to Grand Cayman and Liberia, as well as Hamilton to Puerto Vallarta and Nassau.
The schedule also complements Porter partner Air Transat additional choice for destinations, travel dates and flight frequency.
