GLOBAL TOURISM FILM FEST ROLLS OUT RED CARPET FOR TRADE

This year’s Global Tourism Film Festival is rolling out the red carpet for travel professionals who wish to attend the event, taking place in North Bay, Ont. April 27-30.

Being held in association with the Tourism North Bay, GTFF 2023 will ensure trade guests get priority access to destination and trade information from participating tourism boards, as well as the industry networking opportunities. Travel professionals will also receive a free educational tour of North Bay and learn how to successfully market Canada and Northern Ontario.

Destination partner Air Canada is also offering attendees special fares to travel to North Bay for the festival. Attendees are additionally eligible to win two roundtrip tickets by raffle to fly anywhere within Canada, courtesy of the airline.

Consistent with GTFF 2021, held in partnership with the Netherlands Tourism Board, GTFF 2023 will present films extolling a central connection with tourism.

Having received entries from almost every continent, GTFF 2023 selections will include films that showcase world regions and cultures in categories that include Feature Films, Documentaries, Short Films and Tourism Commercials.

The 2023 Festival also features a diverse slate of workshops and seminars, sponsored by events partner Canadore College. Event attendees will have access to a suite of educational programming, delivered by expert film industry professionals with credits that include network television and film.

The 2023 festival theme will integrate Canada’s natural heritage, multiculturalism, and indigenous peoples.

Nisha Amin, GTFF Executive Director Nisha Amin, says, “North Bay is very film and visitor friendly, so this festival is a great opportunity to showcase two very important industries.”

And as attendees receive access to workshops from International Tourism Authorities, the event is ideal for travel planning further afield.

Dubbed the ‘Gateway to the North’, North Bay is a 3.5-hours from Toronto.
