FLIGHT CENTRE TRAVEL GROUP APPOINTS NEW GLOBAL SUPPLY CEO

FLIGHT Centre Travel Group (FLT) senior executive Greg Parker will succeed Melanie Waters-Ryan as the chief executive officer of the company’s global supply division. Parker, currently FLT’s managing director of global supply partnerships, and Waters-Ryan will continue to work closely to ensure a smooth transition when Waters-Ryan retires early in the 2024 fiscal year.

In his new role, Parker will report to FLT CEO Graham Turner and will be a member of the company’s global leadership team (Task Force). “Greg has worked for FLT for more than 20 years in the company’s air, product and supply businesses and is highly respected within FLT and across the industry,” Turner said. “Throughout his career, he has delivered outstanding results, including year-on-year growth in our supply returns, significantly reducing our cost of ticketing and ensuring we are the distribution chain of choice for our partners throughout the world. Greg has also driven our NDC (New Distribution Capability) strategy and the purchase of TP Connects which, while in its early stages, will enable FLT to build a leading global air capability and further entrench our position of innovation and investment in the supply side of our business.“

FLT’s supply area was established in March 2022 as a separate division under Waters-Ryan‘s leadership, operating alongside the company’s leisure and corporate travel divisions. The division works across all brands and regions to strengthen FLT’s product offerings, ensure the company capitalizes on synergies and negotiating capabilities and provide partners with a more efficient, single access point to FLT’s geographically diverse brand and business stable. Waters-Ryan’s decision to retire early in FY24 was announced in November 2022 at FLT’s Annual General Meeting.
