FIRST CARIBBEAN CRUISE CUT SHORT BY POSITIVE COVID TEST

Well, that didn’t last long. The first cruise ship to re-start cruising in the Caribbean in the COVID era has cut the trip short after a guest tested positive.

SeaDream Yacht Club’s ship SeaDream 1 headed back to Barbados on the fourth day of a week-long trip after one passenger tested positive on a preliminary basis and captain Torbjorn Lund asked the other guests to isolate in their cabins. No crew tested positive but non-essential personnel were also in isolation.

A long-time friend of The Cruisington Times, Gene Sloan, who writes for the travel site The Points Guy, was on board for what he hoped was “a watershed moment for the cruise industry.”
