CANADA HELPS FUEL TURKS AND CAICOS SURGE

The Turks and Caicos Islands welcomed over two million visitors in 2025 and continued that momentum into 2026 with recording-breaking first-half visitation, says Experience Turk and Caicos.

The sustained growth underscores the enduring appeal of the Turks and Caicos Islands among discerning travellers seeking world-class beaches, exceptional resorts and villas, acclaimed culinary experiences, and authentic island culture, says the tourism authority.

Building upon strong tourism figures for the start of the year, the destination has now recorded year-over-year increases every month for the first half of 2026, reports ETC. From January through June, the Turks and Caicos Islands welcomed 384,590 stayover visitors (preliminary figures), a 6% increase over the same period in 2025.

“The continued growth of the Turks and Caicos Islands is a reflection of the confidence travellers have in our destination and the exceptional experiences delivered by our tourism stakeholders every day,” said Minister of Tourism Zhavargo Jolly.

“As visitor arrivals reach new record highs, new luxury developments come on stream, and air connectivity continues to expand, we remain focused on preserving the qualities that make these islands so special while ensuring tourism continues to create meaningful opportunities for our people,” added Jolly.

New luxury resorts

As tourism demand continues to reach new heights, the destination is expanding its hospitality offerings to meet growing visitor interest. So far in 2026, it has added 177 new hotel rooms with the opening of Hotel Indigo by IHG just steps from Grace Bay Beach, Treasure Beach Village at Beaches Turks & Caicos, and 20 bespoke suites at Ellipse Grace Bay.

And it will add an additional 184 rooms later in 2026 with the opening of The Andaz Turks & Caicos at Grace Bay, representing the destination’s first Hyatt-branded property.

Additionally, new culinary experiences are available at AMBRA at Beach Enclave, Anchorage at Blue Haven Marina, Il Forna at Hotel Indigo, and Salina at Ellipse.

The destination will continue to expand on its luxury offerings with forthcoming 2027 openings of renowned luxury hospitality brands including The St. Regis Turks and Caicos, The Residences, opening along the iconic Grace Bay Beach and Janu Turks & Caicos, the lifestyle-driven sister brand to Aman Resorts; as well as the future arrival of Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts in Turks and Caicos, which is soon to be announced.

New and enhanced airlift

Further supporting this growth is a significant expansion in airlift through BermudaAir,

Including new and enhanced service between Providenciales and Toronto (YYZ).

Also from Canada, new service from Porter Airlines will offer seasonal non-stop service to Providenciales from Toronto (YYZ) starting Nov.  6 and from Ottawa (YOW) beginning Dec. 17.

With growing demand among travellers, trust by renowned global luxury hospitality brands coming to the destination, expanded airlift, and a significant reduction in violent crime, the Turks and Caicos Islands are well-positioned to build on its success throughout the second half of 2026 with much to look forward to in the remainder of the year and beyond.
