With G Adventures set to mark the close of its 2025 educational travel program in December, the Toronto-based tour company is already looking ahead to next year, announcing a series of trips that will see travel advisors FAM-ing it up in a wide range of destinations across the globe, from Ireland to Egypt, and Korea to Peru.
This year, G will have hosted over 150 Canadian agents across six continents in destinations, including Japan, Peru, Greece, Morocco, New Zealand, Jordan, South Africa, the Galapagos, Costa Rica, and Thailand.
The extensive annual program was designed not just for familiarization, but to immerse Canadian agents in the company’s core philosophy of community tourism and ethical travel.
“G Adventures has always been an agent-first organization, which is why it’s so important that our FAM trips are intentionally designed to be unlike anything else in the industry,” said David Green, VP of Sales and Managing Director, Canada, for G Adventures. “These aren’t just hotel inspections or surface-level sightseeing trips. Instead, we offer meaningful deep dives into our entire philosophy where we focus on showcasing the ‘heartware’ of a destination, not just the hardware.
“This means agents go beyond the tourist traps to visit our Planeterra community projects, meet the people their clients will impact, and truly understand how community tourism works on the ground. When our agents return, they don’t just sell a tour, they sell their own authentic experience along with the conviction that travel can be a powerful force for good. That’s the expertise and confidence that gives them a successful edge and can set them apart in the market.”
The 2025 itineraries included a unique blend of cultural immersion, active adventure, and social impact, allowing agents to personally experience the products they sell. Additionally, all trips are accompanied by a local chief experience officer (CEO) and also a member of the Canadian G Adventures team who are able to provide destination training and support while on the road.
“I was lucky enough to join G Adventures Japan Express FAM in February, and it truly was an unforgettable experience,” said Erin D. from The Travel Agent Next Door. “Travelling from Osaka to Tokyo, our small group was able to see and do so much – from the peaceful stay at a monastery in Mt. Koya to seeing the incredible views of Mt. Fuji and the excitement of Tokyo’s busy neighbourhoods.
“Our CEO, Kozo, was incredible while guiding us through Japan’s transit system and sharing local stories that brought each destination to life. The mix of culture, authentic experiences, and responsible travel is what really makes G Adventures stand out. I came home inspired, more confident in selling Japan, and reminded of how special small-group travel can be.”
Beyond memories, these trips generated immediate and measurable social impact. The 2025 FAMs contributed to the Trees for Days project, resulting in over 1,200 trees planted globally – one for each day an agent was on G Adventures FAM trip. Furthermore, agents also visited community enterprises supported by G Adventures’ non-profit partner, Planeterra, ensuring their clients travel dollars directly benefit local economies.

Other opportunities
But opportunities for agents don’t stop at FAM trips, says Erin Rogers, National Sales Manager for Canada.
“Our commitment to our agents is centered on the belief that we grow together as true partners. We view their success as our own success, and that drives our commitment to supporting them,” say says. “This means ensuring they have everything required to excel, from access to training through our monthly ‘In the Loop’ webinars, year-round discounts, and our ‘G Dollar’s incentive program. We aim to be the most supportive partner in the industry, giving agents the tools and knowledge required to confidently sell our products and grow their business.”
