APPRECIATING THE GOODNESS IN TRAVEL: G Adventures roadshow celebrates agents in Toronto

By Michael Baginski/ As bombs dropped and drones swarmed in the Middle East/Gulf, the contrast couldn’t have been starker – and more welcome – in Toronto, as G Adventures celebrated diversity, community and happiness – and the tour company’s travel advisor partners.

“This evening is for you, our amazing agent community,” G’s Managing Director, Canada, David Green told the gathering of about 160 agents – the latest in G Adventures’ “Travel Your Heart Out” cross-country roadshow, which started in Victoria, BC, and continues in Atlantic Canada later this month.

While the evening was about all things G – and included presentations and tabletops from tourism representatives from Portugal, Peru, and Costa Rica and Cambodia (the latter the site of this year’s expansive G Summit) – it also reflected the Toronto-based “proud Canadian” company’s foundational premise that travel is about discovery, wonder and “happiness.”

Indeed, G Global Purpose Specialist Nuppy Mistry reminded the audience of the company’s determination (and slogan) to make 2026 “the happiest year ever.”

And that pledge, he emphasized, goes hand in hand with G’s mantra: “Local, local, local.”

In both cases, G National Sales Manager Erin Rogers noted that the new luxury is based on the authentic experiences had while travelling, not “thread counts.”

G’s purposeful philosophy – “G for Good” – even extended to the opportunities for attendees to win amazing trip prizes: to qualify guests were asked to buy tickets that directly supported the Planeterra charitable foundation to benefit local communities where the company operates.

The evening was on the way to reaching $5,000 – Green promised a round of drinks to everyone if the goal was met – and adding to $80,000 already raised.

For a night, in Toronto, with passionate Canadian friends, it was good.
