APPLICATIONS OPEN: G Adventures reveals 2023 fams

Vietnam, Spain, Borneo, and South Africa are fam destinations being offered by G Adventures in 2023. The trips are available to agents at a discounted rate and prospective participants must apply for the opportunity to take part by Feb. 13.

G says its agent trips aren’t ordinary fam trips, with agents having the opportunity to see firsthand how G Adventures’ style of community tourism “truly changes the lives of people in the destinations it travels to, as well as the lives of its travellers as they experience the trips themselves.”

David Green, managing director for G Adventures in Canada, says the company’s fam trips are one of the best ways for agents to understand the impact they can have when choosing the operator for their clients, who will also “have the time of their lives exploring the world.”

“On a hosted fam trip agents will really get to know who we are as a business and what we stand for, above and beyond having some of the best local experiences in the world’s most incredible locations,” says Green. “It’s a valuable way to experience our trips, to explore the world through our eyes and to support local communities, as well as to build a closer connection with our sales team to learn more about G Adventures along the way.

“We recognize fam trips are great for business. Agents come back enthused and excited and pass that energy along to their customers. We also encourage them to create content along the journey to share with their clients online as they travel, to bring the experience to life for their followers.”

Agents that are unable to gain a spot on one of these exclusive fam trips are still able to experience G Adventures tours by taking advantage of the ‘up to 50%’ preferred agent discount.

The trips on offer for 2023 are as follows:

Vietnam (May 16-24): Classic Vietnam: Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh – Sail through limestone karsts aboard a traditional junk boat and walk the streets of imperial capitals. From vibrant Hanoi, the natural beauty of Halong Bay, the atmospheric imperial capital of Hue, and the charms of Hoi An, through to the modern-day life of Saigon, experience the energy of Vietnam in 10 jam-packed days. An experienced Chief Experience Officer will lead you to must-see highlights with time in between to do your own thing.

Spain (July 10-17): Walk the Camino de Santiago – Travellers looking to take on their own pilgrimage along a route filled with beautiful countryside and rustic villages of Northern Spain can start here, at the Camino de Santiago. On this eight-day trip, they will complete the last 100 km of the pilgrimage route to Santiago and receive a “compostela” at the finish to mark this accomplishment. It’s active but at a slower, more picturesque pace.

Borneo (July 21-28): East Sabah Adventure – Between its intriguing wildlife, skyscraper-height jungle canopies, and gorgeous coastlines teeming with tropical fish, this magical stretch of Borneo has lots to see and do. The eight-day adventure promises to keep travellers busy with time spent marvelling at nature’s glory on Libaran Island, close encounters with orangutans at a rehabilitation centre, prowling the streets of Kota Kinabalu by night, and otherworldly wonders in the jungle.

South Africa (Aug. 20-28): Kruger in Depth – This eight-day adventure does one thing very well: Kruger National Park. Starting in Johannesburg, get a taste of the region with a welcome braai before setting out for the Greater Kruger Area. Visitors are likely to see a elephants, lions, and giraffes on the savanna, as well as chimpanzees at the Jane Goodall Institute’s Chimp Eden.
