The Hawai’i Tourism Authority (HTA) is no longer represented in Canada, having ended it’s 11-year collaboration with Toronto-based VoX International at the end of June.
Canada is Hawaii’s second largest international market and VoX says the move is “purely a budget decision,” and adds, “the intention is to let a US based team handle Canada although no definitive decisions have been made.”
The rep company adds, “Understanding that changes and budget adjustments happen, we can’t help but be sad about what is being lost and its potential impact on Hawaiʻi’s position as a top destination for Canadian visits.”
Led by Sue Webb, with Colin Wood and Samantha Carreira amongst the key Hawaii account managers, the company said in a statement to the trade: “We have sincerely appreciated your support and collaboration over the past 11 years… We’re very proud of what we’ve accomplished, and we couldn’t have done it without you. Mahalo (thank you) for everything.”
