Air Canada has announced new, non-stop flights from Vancouver International Airport to Dubai. The new route will operate four times weekly beginning Oct. 28 using Air Canada’s Dreamliner fleet.
The move follows the recent enhancement of the bilateral air transport agreement between Canada and the United Emirates that will also see Air Canada codeshare partner Emirates increase frequency between Toronto and Dubai by two additional flights starting April 20.
The carrier’s new Vancouver-Dubai flights, operating Monday-Tuesday- Thursday-Saturday, will complement the carrier’s daily service between Toronto and Dubai, broadening its presence in fast-growing international markets.
“We are extremely pleased to add the only non-stop service linking Vancouver and Dubai, two iconic and vibrant global destinations. Dubai is one of the top destinations worldwide renowned for its extraordinary landmarks, rich culture, and entertainment,” commented Air Canada Sr. VP Mark Galardo.
He added that in cooperation with Emirates, the flights will connect through Dubai to a multitude of destinations across the Middle East, India, and East Africa.
Tourism Industry Association of British Columbia CEO Walt Judas added, “With this new route, British Columbia will be connected to a significant market that can only benefit the province’s visitor economy considering the UAE ranks fifth in the world in terms of outbound expenditures on travel and tourism according to the UNWTO.”
