Earlier this month, the Air Canada Foundation was the presenting partner of Welcome Hall Mission’s event, Noël pour tous. Under the theme “Travel to Santa’s Kingdom presented by the Air Canada Foundation,” 2,000 underprivileged children navigated a travel-themed maze, boarding pass in hand, to find Santa Claus’ chalet and receive a Christmas gift.
Beneficiaries of Welcome Hall Mission’s free grocery store, Marché Bon Accueil, and the Coeur à Soeur program, which supports young single mothers in need attended the event in Montreal, which coincided with the first snow day of the year, making this event especially festive.
“Noël pour tous is an important event for the many families who regularly access the services of Welcome Hall Mission. It’s a chance for us to help people who are really struggling at this time of year. The Air Canada Foundation’s contribution will go above and beyond in ensuring that the event is successful, and that each child not only goes home with gifts but has experienced some holiday magic,” said Sam Watts, President & CEO of Welcome Hall Mission.
The Air Canada Foundation’s commitment to children’s health and well-being as well as fostering hope for children facing adversity perfectly aligns with Welcome Hall Mission’s goal of ensuring its beneficiaries and their children fully embrace the magic and joy of the festive season. 18 Air Canada employees, including the Air Canada Women in Aviation Employee Resource Group and Air Canada pilots, volunteered during the two-day event.
“The holiday season is a time to embrace hope and generosity, and the Air Canada Foundation is proud to support Welcome Hall Mission’s event. Our goal is to create moments of delight for children and families across communities, and we hope they found joy in their journey through Santa’s Kingdom. We are also grateful to our Air Canada employees who volunteered their time, reflecting the spirit of togetherness that makes this season so special,” said Valérie Durand, Head of Investor Relations and Corporate Sustainability.
This special day concluded an incredible year for the Air Canada Foundation’s mission: improving children’s health and well-being. Throughout the year, the Air Canada Foundation partnered with different organizations, raised funds and donations, supported charities across Canada with that goal in mind. All of this is made possible thanks to Air Canada’s dedicated employees who volunteer their time, event after event, with that same goal in mind
