TRAVELBRANDS TEES UP CHARITY DRIVE: Golf tourney, toy drive support SickKids hospital

travelbrands’ 11th Annual Charity Golf Classic returned to Eagles Nest Golf Club on Sept. 9, raising more than $644,000 in support of SickKids Foundation, making 2026 its biggest fundraising year yet, with the help of a match that doubled every dollar raised.

The event brought together members of the Canadian travel industry for a day of connection, friendly competition and fun, united by a shared commitment to giving back. Thanks to the generosity of everyone involved, this year’s Golf Classic continued travelbrands’ long-standing tradition of supporting SickKids and the children and families who rely on its care.

Over the years, the travelbrands Charity Golf Classic has grown into a much-anticipated event on the industry calendar and one of the company’s most meaningful fundraising initiatives. With this year’s contributions, H.I.S. Canada Travel, parent company of travelbrands, and its family of brands have now raised more than $3.6 million for SickKids Foundation through fundraising initiatives, helping support vital research, clinical care and important programs at The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids).

Guests enjoyed interactive hole activations, an oyster bar, Caesar bar, great food and entertainment, a dramatic helicopter ball drop, plus plenty of opportunities to put their skills to the test and win prizes across the course.

At the heart of the day was the story of this year’s SickKids patient ambassadors, siblings Ethan & Ella, offering a powerful reminder of the children and families behind the fundraising and the impact the travel community can make when it comes together.

“Every year, I’m blown away by the support we receive for this event,” said Nathalie Tanious, President & CEO of H.I.S. Canada Travel Inc., parent company of travelbrands. “Everyone comes ready to have a great day, but they also come ready to give, and that generosity is what makes the Golf Classic so special. Thank you to everyone who joined us, donated, sponsored and helped make this year another one to remember. After 11 years, our commitment to SickKids is stronger than ever, and I could not be prouder of what we continue to achieve together.”

Holiday toy drive

And the giving isn’t over yet. travelbrands is continuing its support of SickKids Foundation this holiday season with its annual Holiday Toy Drive, collecting new toys for SickKids patients and families through Dec. 4.

Donations will be collected at the travelbrands Toronto and Montreal offices until Dec. 4. travelbrands BDMs will also collect donations during agency visits, making it easy for travel advisors and agency partners to participate.

SickKids has provided a wish list of items currently needed for children and teens of all ages, including LEGO sets, games, puzzles, books, crafts, gift cards, infant toys and more.
