Guests booking packages with Sunwing Vacations can now earn WestJet points, tier qualifying spend and milestone qualifying spend on eligible bookings. Top-tier WestJet Rewards members will also gain access to their day-of-travel benefits.
“Fully integrating Sunwing Vacations into the WestJet Rewards program is an exciting step forward in delivering even greater value for Canadians from coast-to-coast-to-coast,” said Steve McClelland, WestJet VP, Loyalty and Strategic Partnerships. “We’re creating more opportunities for members to turn travel and everyday spending into meaningful rewards, helping them get to their next vacation sooner and make the most of their travel experiences.”
The following benefits are now available for all WestJet Rewards members purchasing eligible Sunwing Vacations packages:
- Earn WestJet points – WestJet Rewards members can earn one WestJet point per one Canadian dollar spent on eligible Sunwing Vacations packages. Each guest on the booking that provides a WestJet Rewards ID will earn based on their individual share of the total package price (excluding taxes, fees and charges).
- Earn tier and milestone qualifying spend – Members will also earn tier qualifying spend and milestone qualifying spend on eligible Sunwing packages at a rate of 20 per cent of their individual share of the total package price (excluding taxes, fees and charges).
- Day-of-travel benefits – Silver, Gold and Platinum members travelling on a Sunwing Vacations booking will be able to use their day-of-travel benefits, such as free checked baggage allowance, priority services and more, when checking in with WestJet for their flights.
- Redeem WestJet points – Members can continue to redeem their WestJet points for up to the full cost of an eligible Sunwing Vacations package (including taxes, fees and charges). A minimum redemption of 5,000 points is required. WestJet Rewards members have been able to redeem WestJet points on eligible Sunwing Vacations packages since early 2024.
Partner account linking
Through partnerships with TELUS, Canadian Tire and Skip, WestJet Rewards members have the added benefit of getting to their next travel adventure faster by linking their accounts to earn and redeem WestJet points at their favourite retailers.
Inflight internet access
All WestJet Rewards members, including those who book a Sunwing Vacations package, will also experience complimentary WestJet Wi-Fi presented by TELUS during their flight. WestJet Wi-Fi delivers super high-speed inflight connectivity, allowing travellers to stream videos, play games, download apps or scroll feeds without interruption. Guests with an imminent departure can check Wi-Fi availability on their next flight using WestJet’s Fight Guide within 72 hours of departure.
