By Michael Baginski/ There wasn’t a foot of snow and bitter cold like at the recent Golf show, but rain, slush and general ookyness in Toronto over the weekend made an equally compelling case for winter-weary visitors to the annual Outdoor Adventure Show to find their inspiration to go somewhere else.
Canada’s travel industry was out in full force with a larger presence than ever at the show, held at the International Centre. Exhibitors included a host of varied suppliers, including tour ops, cruise lines, resorts, travel advisors, plus an impressive range of destinations – from the Azores to Uganda – and of course, all across Canada.
(Sadly, missing this year was the Cuba Tourist Board, though one exhibitor from the island still managed to come to sell local crafts. We forgot to ask how they got here – or at least, how they planned to get home. Notably, several U.S. states were also in attendance.)
Travel Industry Today dropped by on Friday and took some snaps of the trade participants between breaks in the steady stream of visitors. Here are just a few of the faces and places – familiar and fresh – that were on hand for the occasion:
