VISIT LAUDERDALE’S CUP RUNNETH OVER: Hockey star skates up as new brand ambassador

Fort Lauderdale loves its hockey. And why not? The south Florida city’s Panthers are the reigning back-to-back Stanley Cup champs. So, it’s no surprise that Visit Lauderdale approached team star Anton Lundell to be its official brand ambassador.

“At just 24 years old, Lundell has already established himself as one of hockey’s most composed and dynamic young talents. Born in Espoo, Finland, and drafted 12th overall by the Panthers, he has become a defining force for the team’s recent success while proudly calling Greater Fort Lauderdale home,” says Visit Lauderdale.

Moreover, off the ice, “he embraces the area’s vibrant energy, outdoor lifestyle, and diverse cultural experiences, reflecting the destination’s blend of international flair and local charm,” the DMO continues.

“Anton is a remarkable athlete and someone who has fully embraced life in Greater Fort Lauderdale,” said Stacy Ritter, president and CEO of Visit Lauderdale. “He’s an international athlete who has made Greater Fort Lauderdale his home, while inspiring fans around the world. His energy, authenticity, and connection to this destination make him the perfect ambassador to share our story globally.”

As an official brand ambassador, Lundell will collaborate with Visit Lauderdale to highlight the destination’s unique experiences, from outdoor recreation and waterfront dining to the dynamic cultural scene that makes Greater Fort Lauderdale one of the most welcoming destinations.

“Fort Lauderdale has really become home for me,” says Lundell. “It’s where I train, relax, and enjoy the lifestyle that makes Fort Lauderdale so special. I’m proud to represent Visit Lauderdale and help showcase what makes this destination such an incredible place to live and visit.”

Recognized for his two-way play, leadership, and athletic achievements, Visit Lauderdale says Lundell’s “humility and consistency reflect the same values that define Greater Fort Lauderdale.”

Through this partnership, Visit Lauderdale says it continues its commitment to elevating authentic local and international voices who embody the destination’s inclusive ethos – spanning from championship athletes and artists to creative innovators who call Greater Fort Lauderdale home.
