There’s rarely an industry function or gathering that goes by without someone mentioning it, not to mention all the emails, texts – and suggestions. With this in mind, we offer a year-end reprise of our most viewed video of 2025 – the incomparable Israel Kamakawiwoʻole and his Polynesian mash-up of “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” and “What a Wonderful World.”
The late great singer/songwriter/ukulele player – known simply as Iz – is a local treasure who is still considered Hawaii’s greatest traditional singer and “the voice of Hawaii,” despite sadly passing in 1997.
Clearly, he is still remembered fondly.
