Canadian arrivals in Los Cabos have jumped over 12% in the first two months of 2025 compared to the same period last year, making Canada the fastest-growing international market for the Pacific Mexican destination.
Now accounting for 12.4% of all visitors, according to the latest data from the Los Cabos Tourism Observatory, Canada has solidified its position as Los Cabos’ second-largest international market, supported by strong lift and advanced bookings from Vancouver, Toronto, Calgary, and a growing number of secondary cities like Winnipeg, Victoria, and Kelowna.
Further, flight occupancy from Canada hit 90% this winter, while demand for wellness-driven getaways, private villas, and culinary travel continues to grow.
“Canadian travellers are seeking more meaningful experiences, places where they feel safe, welcomed, and inspired,” says Rodrigo Esponda, Managing Director of the Los Cabos Tourism Board. “Los Cabos delivers that balance of exclusivity and authenticity. It’s a destination that invites travellers to slow down, connect with nature, and rediscover themselves far from the crowds and complications of traditional sun spots.”
Located at the southernmost tip of the Baja Peninsula, Los Cabos is a place where desert mountains plunge into two intersecting oceans, punctuated by the signature rock formations of Land’s End.
The result is a destination that offers both adventure – on land and water – and luxury, include spa offerings and a vibrant dining scene, now home to several restaurants recognized in the inaugural MICHELIN Guide Mexico.
Two noteworthy upcoming highlights in Los Cabos include:
- Mifel Tennis Open (July 14-19, 2025): Held at the Cabo Sports Complex, this ATP 250 series event brings world-class athletes to Los Cabos for a week of high-energy matches in one of Mexico’s most unique sporting venues.
- Mexican Independence Day (Sept. 15-16, 2025): Fireworks, parades, mariachi, and folkloric dance take over Los Cabos for two spirited days. Visitors are invited to join locals in the joyful shout of “¡Viva México!” and experience the country’s national pride firsthand.
