TORONTO EVENT REVEALS THE SECRETS OF SRI LANKA

The travel trade is being invited to discover Sri Lanka at a unique event taking place May 31 as part of the World Travel Expo at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. Supported by the Sri Lanka High Commission, the event is being hosted by Prestige Discoveries in partnership with the Global Tourism Film Festival, and will feature the documentary film ‘Realm of Paradise,’ by filmmaker and avid traveller Anna Leonti.

The travelogue follows the filmmaker as she “journeys into the soul of Sri Lanka, to uncover what makes the destination mesmerizing,” from its palm-fringed beaches to misty tea-covered highlands, primeval rainforest, multiple game reserves, UNESCO ancient cities, and the rich cultural heritage of the country.

Event presenters will include the High Commission of Sri Lanka, the national carrier Sri Lankan Airlines, the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau, and Destination Management Company Whittalls Travels, which is part of the John Keells Group, amongst the country’s largest tourism conglomerates.

Participants will also be introduced to Cinnamon Hotels and Resorts, which operates award-winning properties across Sri Lanka and the Maldives.

Door prizes will include a trip for two to the South Asian destination, and travel personnel can register for a FAM trip.

The Discover Sri Lanka event takes place from 2 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, May 31, and attendees can also further explore the World of Travel Expo. To RSVP, email rsvp@prestigediscoveries.com or call 416-232-2436.
