This month, Tourism Cares is honouring the work of travel advisors by launching a special Travel Advisor Appreciation Month campaign focused on sustainability in travel. Throughout the month, Tourism Cares is providing exclusive, free tools and resources to help advisors lead the way in building a more responsible future for tourism.
Dedicated to advancing sustainable tourism and meaningful travel for the tourism industry, the non-profit organization connects travellers and industry professionals to more than 500 vetted, community-led impact organizations around the world, from eco-lodges and volunteer projects to cultural workshops and local tour operators.
And as demand for responsible, immersive travel grows (especially among younger generations) Tourism Cares and tools like its Meaningful Travel Map are aiming to shape the future of tourism in a positive way.
“Travel advisors are uniquely positioned to influence the future of travel – trip by trip, client by client,” says Greg Takehara, CEO of Tourism Cares. “Their role goes beyond booking; they have the power to guide travellers toward choices that are more responsible, community-focused, and environmentally conscious. At Tourism Cares, we believe that empowering advisors with the right tools and knowledge is essential to transforming our industry into a true force for good.”
Among the available resources are:
- Meaningful Travel Client Checklist – A ready-to-share resource that offers travellers practical tips to journey more responsibly and sustainably.
- Webinar – “How Travel Advisors Are Embracing Sustainable and Impact Travel,” taking place Monday, May 19 at 12 p.m. EST, featuring advisors who are implementing diverse ways of sustainability into their work.
