A free room upgrade is the jackpot of hotel stays; with this in mind, Casino.org has sought out the “luckiest” hotel chains for guests to score the coveted bump. To that end, the company analyzed reviews of 40,000-plus properties across the 15 largest hotel chains in the US and Canada.
Based on data scraping of keywords such as ‘free upgrades’, ‘complimentary suite’, ‘unexpected upgrade,’ here’s what they found:
- Westmont Hospitality Group (owner of Fairmont) is the #1 luckiest Canadian-based hotel chain
- In North America, Wyndham Hotel (owner of Travelodge, La Quinta, and Caesars Palace Las Vegas) ranks the #1 luckiest hotel chain, with 1 in 22 guests scoring a free room upgrade
- Highgate (owner of the Marriot, Double Tree, and Hard Rock Hotel & Casino) ranks the #2 luckiest, with approximately 1 in 24 guests receiving a free room upgrade
- Choice Hotels International (owner of Raddison) ranks as the least lucky, with only 1 in 250 guests reporting a free room upgrade
