TREVELLO AIMING FOR ‘WORLD DOMINATON’

Zeina Gedeon

Trevello is going public, expanding in the US, adding agents, and making waves in the cruise sector, but they’re all just steps towards total towards “world domination,” laughs the host agency’s CEO Zeina Gedeon, who entertained and informed industry partners at a Toronto gathering late week.

Several dozen top suppliers turned out for the appreciation event and state of the nation presentation, with Gedeon stating that former TPI is on a mission to “change the landscape of host agencies” – not least by introducing new opportunities for member agents to achieve 100% commission based on meeting modest thresholds, combined with enhanced supplier offerings

A “phenomenal” 2024 included burgeoning cruise bookings that now represent 17% of all Trevello business, and which continues to grow; 60% remains tours.

The number of Trevello advisors also jumped 20% to crack the 1,000 threshold – a number that Gedeon is sure will continue to climb as word-of-mouth spreads about the agency’s 100% commission plan and other progressive initiatives.

Notably, Gedeon revealed that 49 agents had joined Trevello’s Chairman’s Circle, earning an average of $290,000 a year based on commissioned sales of $2.5 million, prompting her to quip, “I’m on the wrong side of the business.”

Overall agency sales in 2024 hit $325 million, representing a 9% increase over the year previous.

Gedeon said Trevello’s model has evolved from traditional host agencies, notably addressing substandard commission, no pension, lack of ownership, and legacy technology.

In fact, the new agent-centric model, she maintains is a “game changer” destined to push traditional boundaries and ultimately do no less than “revolutionize” the industry.

World domination to follow.
