JAMAICA REVEALS FALL FAM SCHEDULE

Dunn’s River Falls

There’s no better way to sell a destination than to know a destination. With this in mind, the Jamaica Tourist Board (JTB) is offering Canadian travel advisors a chance to take part in its annual series of familiarization trips for 2023, taking place this fall.

Agents can apply now for an opportunity to participate in one of immersive excursions hosted from September to December, each with a distinct theme or educational focus.

JTB guides will accompany each FAM to help showcase the island’s accommodations, attractions, transportation services and more.

“Agents will come away feeling inspired and empowered with critical first-hand knowledge to help sell the destination,” says the JTB.

The schedule is as follows:

Jamaica Product Exchange (JAPEX) – Sept. 10-15: Jamaica’s premier tourism trade show, JAPEX, offers the perfect setting for travel advisors to network with colleagues and connect one-on-one with suppliers. Agents will have a chance to meet industry vendors and representatives from Jamaica’s many hotels, villas, attractions, and ground transportation services.

Off-Site Weddings – Sept. 18-24: Jamaica is home to many unique event venues and special off-resort locations for brides and grooms who want to plan a destination wedding. This FAM trip will give participants an in-depth look at some of Jamaica’s most iconic locations to say ‘I do’ as well as popular resort options for on-property weddings.

Luxury – Oct. 18-23: For agents working with clients who demand the very best, this exclusive luxury-focused FAM trip will showcase Jamaica’s upscale resorts, attractions, and experiences. From bespoke tours to private transportation services, agents will gain a true appreciation for Jamaica’s premium offerings.

Destination FAM – Western Canada – Nov. 18-23: Exclusively for travel advisors departing from Calgary, this destination FAM will give agents an immersive look at the island’s most popular tourist hotspots. The itinerary will feature key resorts and attractions and will include a sneak preview of new and up-and-coming locations.

Destination FAM – Québec – Dec. 5-12: Exclusively for travel advisors departing from Montréal, this week-long itinerary will guide participants through Jamaica’s main resort areas and showcase true island culture and cuisine.

Prices for Destination Jamaica’s educational FAM trips start at $499, with fees covering return airfare, accommodation, meals, activities, and ground transportation in Jamaica. As space is limited, agents are encouraged to apply early to secure a spot at www.visitjamaica.com/canada/fam-tours.
