15 MAR 2016:  A great number of travel agents owe their success, at least in part, to Joel Hollander.   Joel was a dedicated and skilled trainer and teacher, who over a period of 20 years was an instructor at The Last Minute Club and the Wholesale Travel Group, then at My Travel, Thomas Cook and TravelBrands. Joel died suddenly on Saturday.  He was just 50.

Joel’s skill, dedication, and professionalism combined with lively humour, a wonderful sense of the absurd and an ever-so-occasional touch of the diva, made him very special, and I was privileged to know and work with him for a number of years.

Funeral Services in memory of Joel will be held today at the Jewish Memorial Chapel in Calgary, at 1:00 p.m. with interment to follow at 37th Street Jewish Cemetery. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made directly to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Our condolences go to Joel’s partner of 18 years, Greg Whittaker, to Joel’s family, friends and co-workers.
