01 DEC 2011:  Bernard Weber is his name.  This Swiss-born Canadian citizen is a self proclaimed “film maker, aviator, and adventurer”, he is also the founder/president of what he calls the ‘New7Wonders movement’. If this sounds familiar it may be because on 11/11/11 his ‘New7Wonders of Nature’ campaign announced its ‘provisional’ winners. 01 DEC 2011: A 52-year-old German tourist has died after falling off an elephant in southern Thailand. Police Capt. Chatchai Nakpaksee says the woman, Kerstin Kretz Schmar, was riding the elephant with her husband when the accident occurred Tuesday evening in Krabi province. Read more...

01 DEC 2011: The US Congress has voted unanimously to allow military travellers on official duty to get a special preference to move through airport security checks faster. The bill, approved Tuesday on a 404-0 vote, gives Homeland Security six months to come up with a preference system for the Armed Forces. The legislation now goes to the Senate. Read more...
