COUPLES RESORTS ANNOUNCES VP NORTH AMERICAN SALES

19 FEB 2019: Couples Resorts, Jamaica recently appointed Pauline Abatemarco-Pigott to the newly created role of Vice President, North American Sales.  Pigott has more than 25 years experience in hospitality sales and has worked on both sides of the equation as a buyer and seller of all-inclusive resort products in the Caribbean.


NEW CEO AT SEAWORLD

06 FEB 2019: SeaWorld Entertainment, Inc. has announced the appointment of Gustavo (Gus) Antorcha as Chief Executive Officer and member of the Board of Directors, effective February 18. In addition, the Company announced that John T. Reilly, who has served as Interim CEO during the CEO search process, has been appointed Chief Operating Officer.

Philip Rose to Regional Director in US

22 JAN 2019: The Jamaica Tourist Board announced the appointment of Philip Rose as Regional Director of Tourism, Northeast USA, effective January 1, 2019. Rose served recently as the Jamaica Tourist Board’s Canadian Regional Director for seven years and prior to that district sales manager for the Western and South Western USA.

08 JAN 2019: Lynda Sinclair, senior vice-president, leisure travel for Vision Travel Solutions has announced the appointment of Robin Dunn to the newly-formed position of regional manager, Western Ontario, Leisure Travel.

08 JAN 2019: Cruise Lines International Association announced that its board of directors has appointed Adam M. Goldstein, Vice Chairman, Royal Caribbean Cruises as Global Chair, effective January 1, 2019. Goldstein succeeds Arnold Donald, president and CEO, who served as CLIA Global Chairman since January 2017.

Margarita Peloso new sales manager

03 JAN 2019: Trafalgar has announced the appointment of Margarita Peloso as Sales Manager for Ottawa, Montreal, Central and Eastern Ontario. Working in the travel industry for over 20 years, with a focus primarily on cruising, Peloso has promoted mass market and niche and luxury cruise products across the country.


MICKY ARISON RETURNS AS FCCA CHAIRMAN

27 DEC 2018: The Florida-Caribbean Cruise Association has announced Carnival Corp chairman Micky Arison as chairman of the FCCA executive committee. He takes over on January 2, following the completed term of Adam Goldstein, vice chairman of Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd.

 


EXECUTIVE REALIGNMENT AT AIR CANADA

20 DEC 2018: Air Canada announced the appointments of Michael Rousseau to the new position of deputy chief executive officer and chief financial officer, and Craig Landry to executive vice president, operations, effective January 1. Rousseau and Landry are both based in Montreal, reporting to Calin Rovinescu, Air Canada's president and CEO.


MARILYN CONROY TO RIVIERA RIVER CRUISES

19 DEC 2018: Marilyn Conroy has joined Riviera River Cruises as vice president of Sales and Marketing for North America. Conroy will oversee a team of dedicated regional sales directors at Riviera River Cruises, the United Kingdom’s largest European river cruise operator with an office in Fairfield, Connecticut. Riviera River Cruises is known for five-star ships and a five-star experience at an exceptional value, and its dedication to the travel agent community.

17 DEC 2018: Jean-Marc Eustache, Chair of the Board of Directors and President and Chief Executive Officer of Transat has announced that Ian Rae has joined the company's Board as an independent director. "Mr. Rae brings to the table considerable expertise in the field of technology and new digital-driven business models," Eustache said.


ANNE RIGAIL APPOINTED CEO OF AIR FRANCE

13 DEC 2018: Air France has announced that Anne Rigail will become the CEO of the airline. She will replace Benjamin Smith, who was appointed acting CEO of Air France through the end of 2018. Previously the airline’s executive vice president customer service, Rigail will assume her new role as CEO on December 17.


NEW CMO AT AMA WATERWAYS

10 DEC 2018: AmaWaterways announced the expansion of its senior leadership team, naming Janet Bava chief marketing officer. Effective immediately, Bava will be responsible for the company’s strategic and tactical marketing areas with a special focus on working with travel partners to develop a more personalized approach to guest communication and lead generation.


CLIA ANNOUNCES NEW CEO

29 NOV 2018: Cruise Lines International Association has announced that its Global Executive Committee has appointed Kelly Craighead as president and chief executive officer effective January 1, 2019. Craighead will be taking over the role currently held by Cindy D'Aoust, who in July of this year announced her intent to leave her position by year’s end.


NEW CEO FOR BOSTON CVB

20 NOV 2018: Rhode Island's top tourism official has been named the new head of the Greater Boston Convention & Visitors Bureau. Martha Sheridan has been selected to be the new CEO, succeeding Pat Moscaritolo, who retires in February 2019.


EXECUTIVE APPOINTMENTS AT TOURISM TORONTO

14 NOV 2018: Tourism Toronto announced new executive appointments today, aligned with the organization’s strategic priorities. Andrew Weir has been named to the new position of executive vice president, Destination Development, and Jon Mamela will join Tourism Toronto as executive vice president and chief marketing officer. Both appointments take effect on January 1, 2019.


LEMAY LEAVING AIR TRANSAT

12 NOV 2018: The president of Air Transat is leaving the airline after five years at the helm. The tour operator Transat A.T. Inc. announced that Jean-Francois Lemay would leave in a few months. Chief operating officer Annick Guerard said in a release that he is leaving to “take on new challenges.”


NEW CEO AT ALLIANZ GLOBAL ASSISTANCE CANADA

08 NOV 2018: Allianz Global Assistance, a Canadian travel insurance and assistance provider, has appointed Chris Van Kooten as chief executive officer, effective immediately. Kooten brings extensive insurance industry experience to his new position, having held executive leadership roles with a number of well-respected Canadian companies.

06 NOV 2018: Air Canada Vacations has appointed Mary-Gina Mercier to the role of Area Sales Manager – Quebec effective immediately. Mercier will cover Downtown and South Shore Montreal, and the regions of Estrie, Lanaudiere and Mauricie.

Rinaldi comes to his new role with over 15 years of experience in the Canadian hospitality and travel industry, most recently at Porter Airlines as one of the founding members of its sales team.
